In the rural county of Sussex lays our beautiful Sussex motel. Surrounded by nature and plenty of activities, let us be your go to choice when picking your next stay.

FACILITY:

Bicycles, Hoverboards, Scooters, are not permitted inside guest rooms. Management of the property will be more then happy to store such items upon request only. 

SMOKING:

Smoking, vaping, the use of any electronic devices to produce smoke or vapor of nicotine, or any drugs is forbidden within the Guest Rooms, and common areas within the building. We offer designated smoking areas outside to better satisfy all customers.

CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Any check-ins after 9 pm must be pre-arranged in advance, subject to availability, and will require an extra fee.

EARLY CHECK-IN/PRE-REGISTRATION:

Early check-in is offered based on availability. If you require a guaranteed check-in for arrival before 3 pm, then Pre-Registration and additional payment may be required. Please get in touch with Front Desk staff directly to make reservations and complete a credit card authorization form before your arrival (973) 875-7700

CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS:

Guests must be at least 18 years of age to check-in at Sussex Motel. In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, guests are required to confirm their identity by providing their valid government-issued photo identification (State driver’s license, passport, etc.) at check-in. A valid signed and pre-approved credit card in the name of the guest registration is also required. Your responsibility is to fully understand how your bank processes pre-authorizations and charges to your credit/debit card. Some banks hold pending authorizations for up to 30 business days.

PAYMENTS: 

Guests will be charged at check-in for the number of days they specify and extras they request, such as additional charges for a pet, extra beddings, etc. If for any reason, a guest changes the booking scope after 1 pm, there will be no refund provided for one (1) extra room night, plus tax, cancellation fee. If a guest paid for one week using discounted 1-week rate and is requesting a refund for unused days, the whole week will be prorated to a daily rate plus an additional one (1) room night, plus tax, cancellation fee.

PRE-AUTHORIZATION AT CHECK-IN for potential damages: 

We require pre-authorization of credit cards/debit cards at check-in for potential damages. A pre-authorization is a temporary hold of a specific amount of your available credit limit balance placed on your credit/debit card for the number of potential damages, plus tax (currently $100). Pre-authorization is not a charge to your account; it is a hold on those funds. If any injuries occur, then the damage charge is posted at checkout; it can take anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days for the original pre-authorization to be removed by your bank. Generally, most banks release the hold within 3-5 days. It is your responsibility to know how your bank handles all of your transactions, including pre-authorizations. We are unable to remove pre-authorizations directly through our Motel.

GUEST REGISTRATION: 

We require valid contact information from the guest making the reservations, including first and last name, address, phone number, and signature. The names of all guests occupying the room must be registered. Information regarding your license plate/car description is also gathered at check-in for security.

CHECK-OUT TIME:

The room rental period expires at 11:00 am. Additional day charge, plus tax, may apply for late checkout.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE:

Check-out time is 11 am. Please check out with Front Desk so that housekeeping may begin cleaning your room as soon as possible. As an alternative, we appreciate keys dropped in the key drop-off box. If you require a later checkout, please contact Front Desk before the day of your departure, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply for late check-out.

EARLY DEPARTURE (for multiple days booking): 

Guests who check out of the Motel after 11:00 am and before their scheduled departure date are subject to an early departure fee of one night, plus tax.

SPECIAL REQUESTS: 

We will make every effort to honor special requests such as a specific floor or room number, adjoining rooms, roll-away beds, etc, upon your arrival. All special requests are noted on reservations, and we will do our best to accommodate them. However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance.

ROOM KEYS:

Room keys are issued to the registered guest(s). No room keys will be given to youth under 18 at any time. I.D. is required if you have lost your key and need a duplicate. There will be an extra charge assessed for lost keys. Please return room keys to Front Desk or key box at check-out.

The Sussex Motel is privately owned and operated. It is located in a beautiful rural area of Sussex County, NJ. It is close to Mountain Creek ski resort, water park, adventure tree park, hiking trails, and nature. It has 25 rooms, five rooms located on the 2nd floor, and a free parking lot. Our Motel also provides extended stay rates to accommodate your needs.

DO-NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS:

To provide all of our guests with an excellent and safe Motel experience, we provide daily housekeeping. Our Housekeeping Staff will honor the “Do Not Disturb” door hanger once during twelve hours, indicating that the room is occupied. The Housekeeping Staff is required to enter the room at subsequent times to clean the room, check for safety, and verify the condition of the room. Management reserves the right to enter a room with a known status of “Do Not Disturb” for practical purposes, such as an emergency, housekeeping, maintenance, verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Motel Policy/House Rules. In the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to aid in eviction. The right to privacy ends when a Motel Policy/House Rule is broken. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to Motel property.

Your room can be booked over the phone, online, or using booking engines, such as Booking.com, Expedia.com, etc.

HOUSE RULES: 

No smoking inside the rooms, including medical marihuana. Any violators will be subject to $250 fee and reporting local Health Department as per ordinance.

Quiet hours: 10pm-8am

Only registered pets and only in certain rooms will be allowed. Any unreported pets will be charged at the applicable rate plus $150 violation fee.

Groups, School groups, sports/ski teams, special events, etc. please get in touch with Motel directly for current House Rules (973) 875-7700. Schools and sport/ski teams are also directed to review their specific school or sports organization Code of Conduct.

Check-in time is 3pm up to 9pm. Any check-ins after 9pm must be pre-arranged, are subject to availability and will require an extra charge.

Check-out time is 11am.

Children 5 year old and older are welcome.

This is a non-smoking facility and $250 cleaning fees will apply for any violations.

There are additional fees for pets, subject to availability of pet allowed rooms.

CANCELLATION: The Sussex Motel is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, medical emergencies, COVID, car issues or schedule changes. Reservations must be cancelled twenty-four (24 hours) Motel time, prior to your arrival DATE, in order to avoid a one (1) night full room cancellation fee. If reservations are cancelled less than 24 hours before the arrival date, your credit card may be charged the full room charge plus taxes for one (1) night. If you are staying more than one (1) night, only the first night and taxes will be charged. If you cancel any reservation, you must obtain and save the cancellation number for your records.
NO SHOW CHARGES: Failure to check in on the scheduled arrival date for a reservation guaranteed with a credit card will result in a No-Show fee being charged to your credit card. You will only be charged the first night, one (1) night’s full room rate plus taxes and the balance of the reservation will be cancelled or refunded if pre-paid.
 

All vehicle(s) must be listed on the registration at check-in. Parking for registered guest(s) is free. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner. Sussex Motel shall not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, or contents while operated or parked on the Motel property. If a vehicle is left in the Motel parking lot after the guest has departed without the written consent of the Motel, the Motel reserves the right to have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense. No vehicle washing or repairs on Motel premises.

Children aged 5-12 stay for free when sharing a room with one or more paying adult(s), using existing bedding. As the parents, guardians, or chaperones of children you are personally and legally responsible for and must supervise them at all times. For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the Motel property unsupervised. Extra guests are charged as per current rate schedule and subject to maximum room occupancy limits.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: Room occupancy requirements are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions. Budget room with 2 double beds maximum occupancy is 4, King room maximum occupancy is 3, Economy with one double bed maximum occupancy is 2. If you exceed the maximum number of guests allowed, you will be asked to rent another guestroom for proper accommodations or vacate the Motel.
